The Naregatsi Art Institute marked its 18th anniversary along with the presentation of “The Light of Geghard” CD –album.

The event started with the Lord's Prayer by Father Zgon Abrahamyan, the pastor of Erebuni community of the Ararat Patriarchal Diocese.

The concert part of the event was opened by the Geghard Vocal Ensemble (Artistic Director, RA Honored Worker of Art, Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory Professor Mher Navoyan, Conductor, Anahit Papayan),

Naregatsi Art Institute Founder Nareg Hartounian handed a symbolic gift to the Geghard Vocal Ensemble led by Artistic Director Mher Navoyan.

“Naregatsi Art Institute has a tradition, according to which we give the title of "Ambassador of Armenian Culture" to artists who have greatly contributed to culture and hand them this small khachkar with the Naregatsi Art Institute logo engraved on it," said Nareg Hartounian.

Daniel Yerazhisht, the artistic advisor of the union, addressing the audience spoke about the NAI activities and publications.

“The charitable mission of the Naregatsi Art Institute is especially important in critical moments, when the culture faces the most obstacles. This is also evidenced by the CD-album “The Light of Geghard” released by the union," mentioned the RA Honorary Worker of Art Daniel Yerazhisht.

The concert program also featured the Naregatsi Orchestra (Artistic Director, RA Honorary Artist Artem Khachatur), Nova Folk Instruments Ensemble with soloist Arman Arakelyan (Artistic Director, RA Honorary Worker of Culture Hovik Sahakyan, Conductor, Helbert Asatryan), Grigor Arakelian, composer, Armenian viola creator and performer, People's Artist of the Republic of Armenia, Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory Professor Gevorg Dabaghyan (duduk) and Honorary Artist of the Republic of Armenia, Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory Professor Karine Hovhannisyan (qanun).

On the occasion of the Naregatsi Art Institute’s 18th anniversary congratulatory speeches were made by Mr. Pawel Cieplak, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Armenia, Gevord Dabaghyan, Grigor Arakelian, Mher Navoyan and others.

At the end of the event, Nareg Hartounian handed gifts to the participants of the event.
"Naregatsi Art Institute is a part of the Armenian people, born under God's patronage. If there is no love and participation of the Armenian people, our work will remain incomplete, our halls will be empty. This anniversary is a renewal of our covenant. I thank everyone for standing by NAI and supporting it," said Nareg Hartounian.

The event was hosted by actress Ketrin Manasyan.
