Commemoration through the Spirit of the Art

Naregatsi Art Institute was the host to the annual event "Commemoration through the Spirit of the Arts" dedicated to the innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide.
Since 2003, every year on April 24th, Naregatsi Art Institute faithfully holds commemorative events with the active participation of the artists.

Father Shahe Hayrapetyan, the priest of St. Sargis Primate Church of the Ararat Patriarchal Diocese, delivered a prayer at the event.
Musical performances were presented by the Naregatsi Orchestra (Artistic Director Artem Khachatur), the Paros Chamber Choir (Artistic Director Raffi Mikaelian, Conductor Ruben Karaseferian), the Nubar Traditional Song and Dance Ensemble (Artistic Director Lusine Nazaryan), the Nova Folk Instruments Ensemble (Artistic Director Hovik Sahakyan, conductor Helbert Asatryan).

The event was hosted by RA Honored Artist Samvel Baghinyan.

During the commemoration evening, Daniel Yerazhisht's composition "April 24" (lyrics by Eduard Mezhelaitis) was presented in the performance of opera singer Gevorg Hajyan, who died during the 44-day war.

Nareg Hartounian, the founder of Naregatsi Art Institute, also delivered a speech at the event.

"We must take revenge by living as Armenians. We must uphold our faith and the courage of our spirit, so that the Armenian people are free from such a catastrophe,” - mentioned Nareg Hartounian.

The event commemorating the innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide ended with a traditional candlelight vigil under the soulful and triumphant melodies of the Nova Folk Instrument Ensemble.

The exhibition of miniature works was opened during the event, displaying the works of Ani Gevorgyan, Armine Harutyunyan, Anna Vanesyan, Inessa Poghosyan (the exhibition is open until April 29).
