On May 23rd A.Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet National Academic Theatre hosted a jubilee concert dedicated to the 95th anniversary of famous Armenian composer, qanun player Khachatur Avetisyan, where the Naregatsi Orchestra (Artistic Director, RA Honored Artist Artem Khachatur) took part as well.
The event kicked off with Khachatur Avetisyan's "Poems of Love and Exile" (oratoria) performed by Naregatsi Orchestra (Conductor: Mikael Avetisyan, soloists: Gurgen Baveyan, Lusine Azaryan, Gohar Frangyan (qanun), Ani Rubenyan (shvi), Karen Harutyunyan (blul), Gevorg Hovhannisyan (shvi).
The event also featured the State Orchestra of National Instruments of Armenia (Artistic Director and Principal Conductor: Honored Artist of the RA, Professor Norayr Davtyan), Yerevan State Conservatory Opera Studio Choir (Conductor: Gayane Sahakyan), State Dance Ensemble of Armenia (Principal Choreographer: Honored Artist of the RA Asatur Karapetyan), Barekamutyun State Dance Ensemble of Armenia (Artistic Director: RA People's Artist Norayr Mehrabyan), Lusine Azaryan, Gurgen Baveyan, Nune Badalyan, Vardan Badalyan, Arsen Grigoryan (Aso), Mavr Mkrtchyan, Yeva Yeganyan.
At the end of the event, Naregatsi Orchestra, joining the State Orchestra of National Instruments of Armenia, with an unprecedented group of 73 musicians performed Khachatur Avetisyan's "Holiday Overture" and "Vardavar" Suite, consisting of 6 parts.
It is noteworthy that these works were last performed in the 70s and the audience listened to the unique melodies with a new breath.
