On October 31st, at 4: 00 pm The Armenian Music Society and the RA Ministry of Education and Science, in cooperation with the Center of Artistic Education and Culture held the first Contest-Festival of Folk Instruments Ensembles at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall dedicated to 25th anniversary of Armenia's independence.

The Naregatsi Folk Instruments Orchestra (Artistic Director Artem Khachatur) and The Nova Folk Instruments Ensemble (Artistic Director Hovik Sahakyan) of the Naregatsi Art Institute had their active participation in the contest-festival and were honored with the main awards.

The Naregatsi Folk Instruments Orchestra won the top prize, while The Nova Folk Instruments Ensemble took the first place in the Contest-Festival of Folk Instruments Ensembles.

The festival was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenia's independence and was held in the scope of the events dedicated to the 115th birth anniversary of the great master of music Tatul Altunian.

The contest-festival is aimed to enhance the professionalism of folk instruments ensembles.
